Shoulder pain is one of the most common body maladies that most people experience. It’s the part of the body that bares much of the burden next to the hips only. Others may say that the back and knees have more to do with what you do daily but it really depends on what kind of job you’re doing. If you’re a computer specialist, your shoulder, back, and neck are the most affected part. If you’re a driver the knee and the shoulder do much of the work. And if you’re a body builder, your hips, shoulders, and knees are the most affected part and so on. The important thing is we should know what to do when the shoulder starts aching. The most common causes are muscle sprain, torn ligaments, bone fractures, pinched nerves and broken bones.
Pain in the shoulders is more common in athletes while in training and also in people whose job requires manual strength. The pain is usually the effect of over training and over exertion. Common home remedies like hot compress or massaging the sore parts with rubs will usually ease the pains; shoulder stretching will also help diminish the pain. Another source of shoulder discomfort is accidents. Accidents may happen during training, the actual game or while discharging duties in the workplace. Vehicular accidents and falling from high places are also common causes. These may need hospitalization. When the shoulder is badly damaged, surgery may be needed and following it the service of physical therapist may be required to return the shoulder’s normal function. Organic diseases like osteoporoses, osteoarthritis, and muscle degeneration are also sources of shoulder irritations. Medication, exercise, proper diet and serene living will help much in controlling the pain. Chiropractors can help a lot in managing the pain. We should live in moderation in order to keep our body always in prime condition.
